So today was an interesting day. The day started off with Mo's favorite breakfast, the oatmeal brownie thing. After breakfast the team made 200 sandwiches to give out to the kids at the special needs school. After they made the sandwiches they hoped onto the bus to go. Josh, Stuart, Mark, Payo, and I were off to the work site to try and get some more work done. While we were at the site for the morning, the rest of the team had an eventful day of vbs at the school, hospital visit, and a trip to a coffee plantation.
Mo came to the work site after lunch and brought us all some of the teams lunch, which was a TON better than 0ur turkey sandwiches. Mo jumped right into work cutting the blocks in half with the power saw. We got some of the local boys to carry the huge boulders for us which was a big help. Of course no Nica day would be complete without rain, and it conveniently started after we had knocked down the roof from the old house. So while everyone else was putting up a tarp to keep the ground dry, I got designated to hold all the electronics and stay dry. So i played rock paper scissors with a couple of the kids, counting my boy Eli. Finally we all piled into the truck, with me and Josh in the back and headed home.
We got back and everyone had already eaten the delicious dinner of lemon chicken. Spencer forced them to stop waiting for us and finally eat. Dinner was great like always. After dinner we prepared for tomorrow and now we are all just hanging out.
Much love,
Chris
